Affiliate programs among the tools we cover

As of our last review (September 2026), two of the tools we cover run cash-commission affiliate programs:

• Fireflies.ai — this site is an affiliate (through FirstPromoter), so links to Fireflies.ai on this site are affiliate links. Commission terms are set by Fireflies and may change.
• tl;dv — runs its own "Affiliates" program, which this site may join. Commission terms are set by tl;dv and may change, so we don't quote figures here.

We checked directly and confirmed the following do not offer a cash-commission affiliate program — their referral programs pay in credits or free months only, not cash:

• Otter.ai
• Fathom

We get nothing if a reader chooses Otter.ai or Fathom, and every article on this site is written the same way regardless of which tool that article ends up recommending.

How this affects (and doesn't affect) our rankings

Affiliate relationships never determine which tool we call "best," "cheapest," or "most sales-capable" in an article — those calls are made from the price and feature data cited in each article's own Methodology section, checked against the specifics above. A concrete example of this in practice: on sticker price, Otter.ai — a tool we have no affiliate relationship with — is the cheapest paid plan among the four tools we cover, and every article on this site says so plainly, including in head-to-head comparisons against Fireflies and tl;dv, both of which run affiliate programs.

We also don't hide from our own mistakes on this point. An earlier draft of one comparison misstated a price ranking in a way that happened to favor a tool with an affiliate program over a cheaper one without. We caught it, corrected it the same day, and left a public correction note on that article rather than quietly editing it away — see our methodology page for how that changed our process going forward.
